sometimes i develop the craze of a particular thing and then for days together i am involved in that particular thing...........since the last two weeks i have been watching ramayan (the one by ramanand sagar) on dvd.........everyday after getting back home from office.....its kinda become a routine to watch for it for an hour or so........it all started with dad and myself having a bet on a particular event in ramayan...........so to check who is correct.....we played the dvd......and after that day.....everyday i have been watching it and thoroughly enjoying it..........the dialogues are just great and the actors also did a very good job..........the chitrakut scene with bharat trying to persuade ram to take him back to ayodhya is awesome........the kinda arguments they do on dharma and affection ......it seems like an advocate has drafted those lines...........another episode which has always been memorable is the kumbhkaran episode.......when i was a kid.......i must have seen that particular episode along with my cousins ankur and teen over 30-40 times on VCR..........infact we had been so influenced by the manner of waking up kumbhkaran that we enacted the same scene with ankur acting like kumbhkaran and teen and myself pouring three - four bottles of cold water on top of him (that eventually spoiled the bed) ..............god what were those days.........
last year i had this knack of watching chanakya.......when i had typhoid.......i really had nothing to do.......so had finished off watching chanakya in a week........that is also an interesting story ........politics had been as dirty it is now even 200 years back...........
i don't know why but when i was a student........i never liked history.......may be because i never scored very good marks in history though i felt that i studied well only............but then now i really enjoy it........in fact my bro had appeared for his class 10 boards this time and i actually enjoyed teaching him history........i also read the autobiography of gandhi.......my experiments with truth.........in bits and pieces........and now i have been watching these historical epics...................life keeps on changing......

Ramayana, eh? That must be a good watch.
ReplyDeleteI really want to watch Mahabharata again though.
I am kinda doing the same thing as you. My latest craze is Doogie Howser M.D. I remember this show used to air on Star TV when it was still an all english channel. It used to start just some 15-20 minutes before I reached home from school and I was always able to see only the last few minutes. Soon I got annoyed and stopped watching it.
It's almost like reliving my childhood when I watch an episode of the show and recollect that I had seen the last 5 minutes some 15 years ago :)
