shopping......chocolates.......icecreams.....these are the best medicines for curing depression......when ever you are low.......try out any of these and you are sure to feel better.......at least most girls would agree with me on that..........but then something even better than that is having a kid around........trust me ...with kids around all the anger....frustration.....irritation just vanishes......probably because all our thoughts are then focused on the kid........last week after i got back home from office ........ i don't know why............ i was extremely irritated......i just didn't feel like doing anything............i was just lying on my bed staring at the ceiling.....just then my neighbour along with her two year old daughter came over for a chit chat with mom......i brought the kid to my room...........from that moment my entire attention....thoughts .......time....... were focused on her only..........she wanted to grab everything that she could see on the dressing table.......then she tried to comb her tiny hairs with my comb............then i gave some body talc on her hands.......she tried to apply that on her neck............i brought her a piece of chocolate from the refrigerator......and her excitement on seeing me multiplied when i gave her the same...........within minutes my anger.......frustration........irritation all just vanished..............i think these kids are the best magicians in the world...........

sometimes i develop the craze of a particular thing and then for days together i am involved in that particular thing...........since the last two weeks i have been watching ramayan (the one by ramanand sagar) on dvd.........everyday after getting back home from office.....its kinda become a routine to watch for it for an hour or so........it all started with dad and myself having a bet on a particular event in ramayan...........so to check who is correct.....we played the dvd......and after that day.....everyday i have been watching it and thoroughly enjoying it..........the dialogues are just great and the actors also did a very good job..........the chitrakut scene with bharat trying to persuade ram to take him back to ayodhya is awesome........the kinda arguments they do on dharma and affection ......it seems like an advocate has drafted those lines...........another episode which has always been memorable is the kumbhkaran episode.......when i was a kid.......i must have seen that particular episode along with my cousins ankur and teen over 30-40 times on VCR..........infact we had been so influenced by the manner of waking up kumbhkaran that we enacted the same scene with ankur acting like kumbhkaran and teen and myself pouring three - four bottles of cold water on top of him (that eventually spoiled the bed) ..............god what were those days.........

last year i had this knack of watching chanakya.......when i had typhoid.......i really had nothing to do.......so had finished off watching chanakya in a week........that is also an interesting story ........politics had been as dirty it is now even 200 years back...........

i don't know why but when i was a student........i never liked history.......may be because i never scored very good marks in history though i felt that i studied well only............but then now i really enjoy it........in fact my bro had appeared for his class 10 boards this time and i actually enjoyed teaching him history........i also read the autobiography of gandhi.......my experiments with truth.........in bits and pieces........and now i have been watching these historical epics...................life keeps on changing......

today was the 150th birth anniversary of guru rabindranath tagore......it seemed the whole of bengal was celebrating this occasion........in our residential complex also ........a program was organised........the local newspapers were filled with the new train cum museum being launched in the memory of the poet........
on this event.....national association for the blind......a blind organisation of which my dad is the vice president released gitanjali and gitobitan in braille.........blind students had also organised a drama written by tagore............and they had achieved so much perfection in their performance .........that to rate them lesser than sighted people would be doing injustice to them.................
i was also reminded of my participation in the rabindra jayanti program in our school when i was in the 6th standard..........generally Bengali students took part in the program...........but since my best friends aruna and vasudha were taking part........i had also requested the music teacher to take me in...........we had all sung 'purano shei diner kotha'........i still remember the lyrics of that song........the prize distribution also use to take place on that day........and i had got a merit card or something in maths and science........my mom had gifted me a book 'daddy long legs' after a day or two.................the whole book was in the form of letters written by an orphan girl to her mentor whom she had never seen ........but she knew that her mentor cum sponsorer had long legs........it was such a beautiful fantasy type story............
life had been so simple in those days......hope god restores the peace and the simplicity we had in our lives once again...........

I started this blog after being influenced by some of my friends and acquaintances who have been gifted with the art of expressing themselves in words in a beautiful way.......
today i was watching jodha akhbar probably for the nth time on tv and was admiring the flawless direction and acting ........a thought crossed my mind.......why is it that so many people think and advocate that with the passage of time the new generation of humans are somewhat losing their values and there has been a decline in the ethics of the people in general........infact if we go back in history.......we will find that conspiracies and scandals were happening at that time too....and infact even bigger ones.........be it be the indian history or the world history at large..........younger brother killing his elder brother for the throne.........son putting his father behind the bars...........(we saw that in mahabharat also when kans imprisoned his father)..........kings waging wars and entering into the territory of others for expansion..........what not has time seen ............
today the manner in which the conspiracies take place have changed......its just the change in the mode...............human nature has not changed and i guess it wont change with the passage of time................
